The first option is the ability to create one free “Sample Burner.” I urge you to use the freebie, because you never know when Craigslist may decide to change the way it accepts verification numbers. This free number will expire 24 hours after you create it, so be sure to create a new Craigslist account within the same day.

Once you’ve used that number, if you’d like to create more numbers, the app allows you to buy them for as little as $1.99. The more time you want before your number expires (up to 60 days) the more the number will cost. But for Craigslist, your number only needs to last for the minimum amount of time offered.
